Carly Tennent
NextGen Ministry and Student Ministry Assistant
Carly has been a part of Cross Pointe's staff since 2009. She's an Atlanta native that grew up in the church. "My parents, Janice and Robert Tennent, were born and raised here in Atlanta," she explains. "I am the oldest and have one sister, Carson. My mom and dad were Sunday School teachers for over a decade before my mother became a children's director. To say I was raised in the church isn't really accurate--I lived at church!"
Carly is a great planner and coordinator by nature, which are useful talents to have in her ministry role. "The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our future makes my job enjoyable!" she says.
It was as a child that Carly came to Christ. "As a youngster I always talked about Jesus being in my heart but I had never really had a 'moment' where I invited him to be my Savior and Lord," she says. "Our church had a revival each year, and one night as our Pastor was talking and the Spirit convicted me. I asked Him right then and there to come into my life. That next week I was baptized to show others how I gave my life to the one who died for me."

Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 40:31. "It reminds us that when we rely on Him, He will sustain us."
How Carly likes to spend free time: "On rainy days I love to read, but when the sun in shining I prefer to be outside, at the lake or anything with my friends. When I get the chance to go home I enjoy driving to my parents' to have a home cooked meal and ride the horses."
Favorite Foods: "Fried Lobster--but it's tied with wild mushroom and chicken risotto"
Best present Carly ever received: "When I was 4 or 5 my parents gave me a mini-electric Jeep. I rode that thing around our neighborhood until I was too big for it!"
Favorite team: Atlanta Braves
Favorite saying: "Be yourself, everyone else is taken."
Carly's best vacation: "Our family's annual trip to Charleston, South Carolina. The historical buildings, southern culture, hole-in-the-wall restaurants and shopping makes it my favorite."
Carly's favorite musical artist: John Mayer
Something Carly learned from her parents: "The value of hard work. Now I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a job! I can not stand to be bored."
In high school, Carly was most likely to: "be caught chatting in class."
