Larry Herndon
Executive Pastor
Larry has served at Cross Pointe since June 2008. "I have been in full time ministry for 35 years. I have served as a pastor, youth and recreation minister, administrator, and Minister of Education with hands on experience with children and preschool," Larry comments. "God has used these experiences to equip me for the role that I have."
Serving at Cross Pointe has been a great experience. "I love our people, those who started the church from the beginning and made it possible for the rest of us to experience this new work and dream. I love working with a dedicated staff. I love working with our Pastor, and making sure we are staying true to our mission statement, loving God, serving others and sharing our story."
Larry came to Christ at age 11. "God got my attention about my need for His forgiveness and the possibility of spending eternity in hell. We were in the field hauling hay and one of the young men fell off the truck and died. Our church was having revival that week so that night I repented of my sins as a young 11 year old and made Jesus my Lord and Savior. From that point my life was changed--even as a young boy. I know God's hand has directed me as His child throughout the years."
Larry and his wife, Jeanie, have been married 38 years. They have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren.
